County and state (optional, for localized weather and market data)

Grain sale records (crop, bushels, price, buyer - entered voluntarily)
Payment information (processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number)
Information collected automatically:
Browser type, device type, and operating system
IP address and approximate location
Pages visited and features used within the Service
Dates and times of access
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
Provide and maintain the Service
Send SMS price alerts to your phone number (only if you opt in)
Personalize weather data and market recommendations based on your location
Your data is stored on secure cloud servers (AWS infrastructure, US regions)
All data transmission is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
Database access is protected by Row Level Security (RLS) - each user can only access their own data
Backend functions use JWT authentication for secure API access
We do not store passwords in plain text (handled securely with bcrypt hashing)
6. SMS Communications
Mobile information, including SMS opt-in data and consent, will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
SMS consent is used only to send CropYield AI SMS alerts and service-related messages requested by the user. See our SMS Terms for full program details.
We only send SMS messages if you explicitly provide your phone number AND enable price alerts
You can disable SMS alerts at any time in Settings → Notification Preferences
Reply STOP to any message to immediately opt out

7. Cookies & Local Storage
We use essential cookies for authentication session management
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies
We do not use third-party tracking pixels
Session data is stored in your browser's local storage for authentication persistence
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
Access your personal data (view in Settings or request via email)
For California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
For EU/EEA residents (GDPR): Our legal basis for processing is contract performance (providing the Service you signed up for) and legitimate interest (improving the Service). You may request data portability or lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9. Data Retention
Account data is retained as long as your account is active
After account deletion, we remove your personal data within 30 days
Anonymous, aggregated usage statistics may be retained indefinitely
Payment records are retained as required by law (typically 7 years for tax purposes)
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
